Monk’s Beard in the Spaghetti

This virus has ironically been good for catching up with people. Being stuck at home in the evenings I have been having drinks with friends and family who are similarly stuck at home. We have been swapping stories of our childhoods and our families, my favourite is when I tried to open a bottle of …

No Washing up Required

On these cold dreary nights, where the promise of summer’s warmth is far off, there is nothing better than hot chocolate. Rich, dark and creamy, it helps lift the winter blues that still hang around this time of year. But have you ever wanted to be able to eat your mug after finishing your hot …

Beetroot Vegan Burger

Vegan burgers used to be these bricks in a bun, with the texture of sawdust and the taste of cardboard, but now they have transformed into an almost perfect replica of a meat patty. I used to avoid vegan burgers like the plague, but now they have improved so much, I prefer them over traditional …

Wheel Cakes as a Reward

Going for job interviews is hard. You have to prepare, arrive at a strange location with lots of time in hand, quell the dancing butterflies in your stomach and try to persuade people that they should give you a chance. After all that, you feel drained and the only solution is to get a snack …

Cacao but Not Hot Chocolate

I had a dream, well actually my friend had the dream. She dreamt one night about making coffee, but instead of ground coffee beans, she used cacao. Once I had been told about this idea, I was intrigued. I had read that the Mayans and Aztecs, followed a similar process of turning the ground and …

Slurping Noodles Like a Pro

On some days your body starts to crave certain foods. Sometimes it is something that your body needs like vitamin D, so you hanker after eggs and devour all eggs in the fridge, much to your own dismay. But sometimes it’s just a lust after a type of food that is just so delicious that …

A Hot Story for a Cold Day

It was a freezing day in late January. Snow fell from the sky, ice covered the trees in a glittering coat and breath appeared in small white puffy clouds, and on a day like this I wanted to go swimming! In the winter I love the idea of finally being able to remove the numerous …

Surprisingly Treacherous Hot Pot

What is the most dangerous thing that normally happens at a dinner? Maybe spilling a glass of wine or dropping food down your front. You don’t expect when eating an enjoyable meal out to be splashed by scalding hot broth and almost have an eye taken out! Apart from minor burns and a near miss, …

The Cure for a Cold Morning is Sesame Cheese Cake

I didn't want to get up that morning. My room was cold and I had created a warm cocoon in my bed. It was raining outside and I dreaded the long walk to university. But there was something which pulled me out of my warm nest. It was the prospect of going to a Japanese …

I bite my spoon and it was delicious!
Cool cafe decoration of silver chocolate moulds that actually has something to do with what is being served and sold. Some very intresting designs. Can I get a chocolate fish for Easter this year?
Managed to get the reflection of the silver chocolate moulds reflected in the drinking chocolate.
It's ALL chocolate! I can eat EVERYTHING! This is the dream! No washing up required. .
Cake! Dense chocolate and coconut vegan cake. And has been sweetened using banana which I could stilll taste. So yummy.
Ginger green tea that helps sooth the digestion of a great burger. And not too sweet which is always great as I can really enjoy the flavour. .
